meet your educator

AKIVA GERSH has been working in the field of Jewish and Israel education for 20 years.


From 2007-2020, Akiva taught Jewish History and Modern Israel at the Alexander Muss High School in Israel, where he guided visiting high school students through the story of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. He is now continuing his work online with schools, synagogues, individuals and organizations throughout the world.


He is also a  contributing blogger at the Times of Israel as well as a musician.


In 2017, Akiva published "Becoming Israeli", a collection of essays and blogs that gives an inside look into the funny, inspiring, emotional as well as challenging sides of making aliyah and acclimating to life in Israel. 


Akiva holds a BA in Religious Studies from Brown University, an MA in Jewish Education from Yeshiva University, and received rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Sulam Yaakov in Jerusalem.


Akiva lives in Pardes Hanna with his wife Tamar and their four children.

The cost of the course is $49 and includes six video classes, each between 45-60 minutes. Classes will be sent to your e-mail once a week for 6 weeks consecutively. You can watch them wherever you want and whenever you want, at your own convenience.
